Susan's Story

I'm Susan, and my pregnancy journey has been long, but rewarding. My first pregnancy, at 24, happened very fast and without complications. In 2020 at 34 years old, I got pregnant after trying for a year. We only had a few weeks to be excited before we had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. It took me a while to be ready to try again. I married my husband, Eric in April 2022, by June I was pregnant again. That resulted in another loss at about 7 weeks. In December that same year, we found out we were pregnant again. My pregnancy was rough and the worry of losing her never went away. Our beautiful double rainbow baby was born 3 weeks early in July 2023. Now, our family is complete with our son, daughter, four cats, and dog.

After my 2 miscarriages there were no resources to help me get through them. As soon as I heard about M.A.M.A.S., from a Facebook post, I knew I had to be involved in some way. I loved that this organization was filling a need that previously wasn't met. I'm so glad to be a part of this and I can't wait to see the things we accomplish. Nobody wants to be a part of this "club," but it is much more manageable when you have the support of others who know what you are going through.
